Don’t want to worry about the cost per scan? Then choose our veterinary mare package. This package offers you the certainty of unlimited scanning (until pregnancy is confirmed) until 1 September of that year, for a fixed amount of €195 excluding VAT.
With this package, you are assured of full monitoring of the pregnancy, with no surprises afterwards.
Your mare in top condition
During her stay with us, your mare will be safely stabled. Your horse will be fed and mucked out by our expert team. We also offer the option of having your horse trained during her stay at an additional cost. This will keep your mare in top condition. For mares with a foal, a special boarding rate of €16.00 per day excluding VAT applies. For a mare without a foal, the cost is €12.50 per day excluding VAT.
Health of all horses
During transport and stay, as well as during insemination, the risk remains with the owner of the mare. It is therefore important that your mare is correctly vaccinated in accordance with FEIF guidelines (basic vaccination and annual vaccination). This is how we guarantee the health of all horses at our riding school.

My mare is in heat, when should I order semen?
When your mare is in heat, it is wise to call the vet first. The vet will examine the mare and determine the right time for insemination.
I would like to order sperm, how do I do this?
If you live abroad, the ordering process is slightly different than for customers in the Netherlands.
We can ship semen to Germany from Monday to Friday. Shipping is overnight.
Example: If you order semen on Wednesday morning before 9:30 a.m., it will be delivered to you on Thursday morning.

Which courier service do you use to send the sperm?
We work with various courier services and check daily to see which courier can guarantee the fastest delivery.
What is a TRACES number and do I have to apply for one?
TRACES (TRAde Control and Expert System) is a European system for tracking animal transports.
Yes, if you want to have semen delivered to Germany, a valid TRACES number is required. This must be applied for before the first order – usually through your local veterinary office.
My mare did not become pregnant in the first cycle. What should I do now?
It is not a problem at all if the mare does not become pregnant in the first cycle. You can try again in the next cycle.
My mare is pregnant. Do I need to notify Nieuwe Heuvel? Or the studbook?
We would like to hear whether the mare has become pregnant. We will then immediately report the covering to the studbook. Within a few months, this will also appear under “my coverings” on MIJNKFPS.nl. You do not need to do anything yourself. You can also register the foal here when the time comes.
