Half a century of dedication to breeding and stallion management

As down-to-earth and modest Dutch people, it is not in our nature to place ourselves in the spotlight. Yet we look back with quiet pride on what we have built over more than 60 years. What began as a small farm has grown into a globally recognised Friesian stable. We are proud of the more than 300 approved breeding stallions that have found their way through us, ranging from Shetlands to KWPN stars. In addition, we have presented 97 Friesian breeding stallions at the KFPS Stallion Show. Among these are four preferent stallions: Lammert 260, Alwin 469, Fabe 348 and Folkert 353. Each has contributed to strong, sustainable bloodlines trusted by breeders worldwide.

The quality of our breeding program reaches far beyond national borders. Horses bred or trained by us are cherished well outside the Netherlands. Our breeding horses are known for their health, character and presence – traits that make them valuable partners in sport, recreation and breeding. We have supported countless mares in achieving their Ster predicate, a recognition of both conformation and performance.
Thanks to this proven quality, horse enthusiasts from all over the world know where to find us, and we are proud of that.

Our commitment to excellence goes far beyond breeding. As a riding school, we aim for the highest possible standards. De Nieuwe Heuvel proudly holds the official 5-star FRNS Riding School Certificate – the highest distinction within the Dutch equestrian sector. This certification confirms that we excel in every area: horse welfare, safety, professional guidance and modern facilities.
