Global equestrian excellence
As Jan Folmer describes, we are passionated of all horse breeds. Here, we treat every horse and pony with the same love and care that we give a Friesian. This enthusiasm has resulted in succes on global scale, such as the Rio Olympics in 2016, when our breeding product Arlando N.H., ridden by Diederik van Silfhout (Jan Folmer’s nephew), was representeing the Dutch team and placed fourth
Our working method has changed throughout the time. Where years ago the stallions used to travel by truck to bred the mares in different places, they are now staying home at out EU-approved station that was founded in 2013.
Now that every stallions’ semen satisfies the most recent EU certifications requirements, it can be frozen and sended world wide.
Trained inseminators now transport the semen instead of the stallion. A modern fridge and roller system are installed in each inseminator’s truck to preserve the best possible quality of semen while it is being transported.
The description above illustrates how the company originated and grew, focusing mainly on the stallion station. But of course, we are involved in many other aspects of equestrian sport. Success in the horse world requires many complementary facets, such as inspections, preparing horses for riding, mare supervision for insemination, competitions, and serving as a learning environment for beginner riders through our riding school.
Our reputation has grown in the area, partly due our riding school. People love coming her to practice their sport, and they naturally come to the foyer after their lessons. The riding school became a meeting place for young and old. In our foyer and riding school you can relax on the sunny terrace or enjoy a delicious meal from an extensive menu while overlooking our luxerious indoor arena.
With the developments in our foyer, indoor arena, and outdoor grounds, we are now the perfect venue for equestrian competitions. Several studbooks host member meetings, inspections, and other events.
